I had lots of fun this Thursday celebrating my seventeenth birthday with my friends and family. The most important part of it all for me was, of course, the birthday outfit. I went with a pale blue crop top with silver beading worn over a simple black maxi dress. Hidden under the dress are some heeled booties just to add some height to the already tall visual of my dress. I decided to go for something simple but classic with a hijab style that was just thrown over one shoulder. The dark purple color of the scarf contrasted the light color of my top while still providing something other than the already present black. No matter how pretty nail polish can look at times, I actually prefer not to wear any. But it was my birthday and the pale, lavendar color paired well with my outfit, so I made an exception this one time. These metal bangles are one of my favorite accessories to wear. Every time I look through my Mom's boxes of bangles, I find new metal ones to add to this set. While they contain a certain cultural aspect from India, they also provide an edgier feel to any outfit.
Ever since our local mall opened up a brand new Cheesecake Factory, I have been dying to get my hands on some cheesecake. For my birthday, we got the Chocolate Tuxedo Cream Cheesecake to share with my cousins, aunts, and uncles. Story time: 3 1/2 years ago, at the very beginning of 8th grade, I had to go to the hospital and have my appendix removed because it was infected. So, we try to use it as a joke whenever possible, and my birthday was no exception to that. My oldest sister bought me this appendix plushie from iheartguts.com and I have been taking it with my everywhere like a little kid. It's a seriously cute gift to get anyone who has had an appendectomy and they have so many other guts you can choose for your plushie! Details:
