Today's outfit post is all about wardrobe basics and summer fashion trends. It's no secret that the most widely applied trend of the year is "millennial pink", a color that isn't quite as outlandish as a full-fledged, vibrant punch color, but instead takes a delicate taste of rose and makes its appeal to the dusky filter of youth. Millennial pink is the new nude, taking its place in the mix of basic items and transforming the way we use color in our wardrobes. I liken it to navy blue or hunter green: it's not too much of a reach for those who hate to dress in color, and it's just tasteful enough to be a "subdued" choice for those who do.
If you're looking for some direction in your accessories, gold accents are the best for summer. They give your outfit that sun-kissed touch that it needs. Last stop on this "back to basics" guide is shoes. Summer is the time for sandals, so I went with a pair of ankle strap block heels, checking off another box for this year's trends. Block heels are one of the best shoe trends to ever exist because they give you some height (I am pretty short and that's pretty much the only reason I wear heels) but are still just as comfortable to wear as flat shoes.
I hope you enjoyed this simple summer outfit! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know if you liked this post!
