To end off the year, I just wanted to do one more small post about an outfit I wore at the beginning of this year at the FIDM Debut Fashion Show, where a selected group of graduating students presented collections of designs they had made-- Chairing Styles, costumes, and couture. Aside from the ones we had at sleepovers and Nordstrom Fashion Ambassador meetings, I had never been to a fashion show before. Watching the creative presentations of artwork that the students had designed reaffirmed my desire to work in the fashion industry. My outfit was based off of Pantone's 2016 colors of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity. The colors are soft pastels that evoke the same shades of pink and blue that often represent the assigned gender of a newborn baby. Combined for Pantone's purpose, these colors evoke a conversation about the new meaning of gender in today's society.
I added this dainty silver necklace to go with the beading of the top. I liked that there wasn't a distracting color, but it still made a muted statement of its own. Last but not least, my arm candy for the day was just my favorite combo-- a pink-faced watch and silver bracelet.
